Landlord Insurance

It would be unwise to run a business of any sort without having appropriate insurance cover. To do so would leave you financially exposed when events outside of our control occur. Through our insurance partners we have sourced competitive and comprehensive insurance cover for landlords covering HMO, DHSS, Asylum or professional tenants. When you make a considerable investment in property it makes sense to insure for fire damage and theft.

Landlords are not the only people who need insurance. Tenants often bring with them a considerable range of possessions, ranging from small personal items to household appliances and furniture. We can help tenants find appropriate insurance cover for their possessions against fire and theft and also to protect their deposit.

As a landlord you are responsible for insuring the building and contents. Please note buildings insurance will not include contents. PL cover should always be taken when insuring building and/or contents. On occasions, the actual cost to replace contents if destroyed by a fire or water damage, may be minimal, but PL cover is really important for landlords to consider. For example, if a tenant trips on a loose carpet, or get an electric belt from a faulty cooker, a claim for personal injury may arise. Not having insurance in place exposes landlords to a commercial financial risk. CSM also recommend landlords to consider ensuring any policies include legal expenses cover.
